/2 Minute Tutorial: Add a Facebook Button to Your Sidebar

  1. Visit https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/like-box-for-pages.
  2. Type in your own Facebook Page URL (hint: visit your fan page on facebook and then copy the URL from the address bar).Facebook Like Box
  3. Uncheck the option to “Show Friends’ Faces.”
  4. Optional: enter a Width like 200 or 300 to ensure that the button will fit nicely into your sidebar.
  5. Click “Get Code.”
  6. Choose the tab labeled “IFRAME.”
  7. Copy the code provided. It should look like this:

  8. Log into your WordPress dashboard and navigate to Appearance > Widgets.
  9. Select the “Text” widget and add it to one of your sidebar areas.

  10. Paste the code copied from facebook into the blank text area that was just created.

  11. Click “Save” and view your site. You should see your new “Like” button in the sidebar area you selected (depending on which sidebar you chose, you may need to navigate to a blog post or another page to see it).
